Suspending Flashcards

Last modified: 30/03/2026

Suspending removes a flashcard from study sessions until you unsuspend it.

The flashcard is kept in your collection, but it is not shown for review.

Unlike burying, suspension does not reset automatically.

  • Press S on your keyboard, or
  • Open the More menu (press M or tap ) and choose Suspend.
  1. Open the Flashcard Library.
  2. Select one or more flashcards.
  3. Click the Suspend button in the bulk actions bar.

To unsuspend, select suspended flashcards and click Unsuspend.

In Flashcard Library, filter by Stage -> Suspended.

Suspending is useful when:

  • A flashcard is outdated or incorrect and you want to stop reviewing it until you fix the content.
  • You’re studying a subset of material (for example only certain chapters) and want to temporarily exclude other flashcards.
  • A flashcard is a leech and you need to rewrite it before continuing.
